Dawn Tavares - Owner & Head Caterer

Dawn founded Cherry Bomb Catering as most entrepreneurs do, as a part-time way to do what she loved. Just three short months later, Cherry Bomb was a thriving full-time operation, catering to weddings, parties, and corporate events across the Truckee Meadows. Since 2011, Cherry Bomb has continued to grow, receiving recognition for attention to detail, meeting client’s unique needs, and Dawns undeniable love for making people happy through food and hospitality. Utilizing the platform Cherry Bomb’s success has given her, Dawn regularly finds opportunities to give back to the community which supported her dream. Annually, Dawn and the Cherry Bomb team support organizations such as Loka Cares, The Veterans Guest House, and first responders across the community.

Dawn prides herself on her ability to communicate with clients, to understand their needs and desires, and to help each of them craft an event unlike any other. Dawn's passion and life’s purpose are supporting the fabulous Cherry Bomb team and serving Cherry Bomb’s amazing clients with her signature love, generosity, and hospitality. Dawn is excited to create the perfect menu and support you in your event planning big or small.

Kelsi Doel - Executive Chef

Kelsi’s passion for cooking began at young age; her executive chef father set an early example, sharing his love of food and cooking with her. Kelsi carried on the family tradition, graduating from Le Cordon Blue College of Culinary Arts in 2012. After graduation, Kelsi worked throughout the vibrant Reno culinary scene, honing her skills and defining her own signature flavor style. Since 2016, Kelsi has been the Executive Chef at Cherry Bomb Catering. Kelsi continues to challenge herself to find new flavors and learn new techniques though travel. By experiencing different culinary cultures across the globe, Kelsi is able to interpret local delicacies and inspire new flavor profiles which elevate every Cherry Bomb event. As our Executive Chef, she leads our team with experience, creativity, a genuine love for the profession, and passion for every dish she plates.
